Regional Development Team

The Development Team is responsible for participation and club development programmes as well coaching education.

  • Our Development Team’s main areas of responsibility are:
  • Little Athletics – a development programme for children between 5-10 years old
  • Fit4Life – a programme for recreational runners and other adult participation initiatives
  • Delivering coaching education through the Athletics Leader, Assistant Coach and Level 1 programmes
  • Liaising with the Regional Coaches to deliver Regional Squads
  • Club Support Scheme
  • Providing assistance to new clubs including provision of equipment and coach education
  • Liaising with clubs and County  Boards to help them to achieve their goals
  • Liaising with other sports development bodies such as Sports Partnerships and local Councils
