US based Irish athletes were out in force this weekend as the cross country season gathers pace - just two more races, Regional and National to go.

David McCarthy (West Waterford AC) improved on his previous outing to finish 6th at the Big East championships, while Ciaran O’Lionaird (Leevale AC) also showed improvement to finish 10th at the ACC championships.

David Rooney (Raheny Shamrocks AC) picked up the bronze medal at the Southland Conference, while Jamie McCarthy (Riverstick Kinsale AC) was was a place further back at the Big South Conference.

Laura Huet (DSD AC) was fourth at the America East championships; Hollie Knight (Finn Valley AC) was sixth at the SEC Conference, while Deirdre Doyle (Tinryland AC) was seventh at the NEC championships.
