A very successful Level 2 course was held recently in Cork IT and UL with 20 coaches in attendance. Throughout the two weekends the coaches covered two event disciplines, choosing between sprints or throws on weekend one and jumps or endurance on weekend two. The coaches were put through their paces by tutors Drew Harrison (Jumps), Steven Macklin (Endurance), John Shields (Sprints), Dave Sweeney & John Sheehan (Throws), Colin Griffin (Walks), Eamon Flanagan (Pole Vault), Derek Malone and Darragh Graham (Strength & Conditioning). Many thanks to all the tutors on their excellent presentations and indeed to all the enthusiastic coaches who took part on the course. No doubt the knowledge gained will be put to good use at their respective clubs.
