A very successful McDonalds Little Athletics Agility Challenge took place at new start up club Awbeg Valley AC recently. The club is based in Doneraile in North Cork. The club is having big numbers attend their Little Athletics sessions and have numerous enthusiastic coaches/parents helping out. The sessions follow the Fundamental stage of the LTAD model with the focus on fun games developing Agility, Balance and Co Ordination.

Club Secretary Brian Stack has been delighted with the response to date. The club is just ten weeks old and already they have supplied an athlete to a Cork team in cross-country. The parents and local teachers have been very supportive and the kids seem to be enjoying themselves. These are the essential ingredients to building something sustainable. The future looks bright for North Cork athletics.
