David Rooney’s consistency throughout the season was rewarded with an excellent run in his first NCAA cross country championships in Terre Haute Indiana today. The Raheny Shamrocks man was 58th overall, the best placing of the Irish athletes.

David McCarthy from West Waterford ran well below form to finish 84th

Breffini Twohig (Dundrum South Dublin AC) was the only Irish runner in the women’s race, finishing 64th.
