On St. Patricks Day 2010, Athboy based Fr. Murphy AC are holding its Annual 5 Mile Road Race and Fun Run. This race is also the Meath Athletics Road Race Championships and is the 1st Leg in the Meath Athletics Road Race League.

Competitors from across the county and beyond will contest this showcase of Meath athletic road running, with last years winner, Robbie Matthews of Dunshaughlin AC, expected to renew his rivalry with St. Brigids Gerard Heery and Dunboyne ACs Rory McDonnell. Also at stake is the perennial St. Brigids Cup, presented to the best Senior Meath Mens Team.

Online entry available until 14th March on runireland.com. Entry 12.00 online 15.00 on the day.

Entries will be taken from 12.30 p.m. in the Community Centre, Ballivor, Co. Meath, with last entries at 1.30 p.m. and Race start at 2 p.m.

All are welcome

Open Race cash prizes for first 3 Senior men, first 3 senior women, first masters men, first masters women, first team of 4 men and first team of 4 women.

After-race refreshments will be served in the Community Centre where all presentations will be made.

The Meath Athletics Open Road Race League is a series of 8 races held within the county from March to September, with distances ranging from 5Km to 10Km. Finishers in at least 5 of the 8 races will be classified, and will be entered into a draw for a hotel stay in Ireland.
