National Senior Champions lead event specific workshops for Wexford’s top youngsters.

Wexford Athletics County Board’s Development squad athletes this weekend attended a full day of event specific workshops organised by the Wexford County board’s development team. Over 40 of the counties top juvenile athletes were put through their paces by National Sprint and High jump champions Darragh Graham and Rose Daniel, Athletics Ireland Regional Development Officer Ryan Montgomery and National Squad Coach George Ayres. The session saw the athletes given valuable lessons in their specific events focusing on technique development this was then followed by a seminar in Planning and Nutrition by Coaching Ireland under the Lucozade Sports program.

The squad day was the highlight so far of the 2010 program for the counties top juvenile athletes with the Wexford Development team looking into further opportunities in competition and athlete development in the coming months. Thanks to all the parents and coaches who helped out on the day.
