October has been a very busy month of Coach Education in both Meath and Dublin with two Level 1’s held in Claremont Stadium Navan and at the Donore Harriers track and clubhouse in Chapelizod. Both courses was blessed with good weather and so the new coaches could be tutored and coach all the events outdoors. In Navan we had 18 coaches from 5 counties participating in the Level 1 with Ciaran Condon, Brian Corcoran, Jamie Costins and Bart Rogers tutoring the jumps, throws and track events.
The Donore Harrier’s course had 36 participants from many counties around Dublin attending who were at their course early each morning and were very enthusiastic to learn and asked many questions of the coaches who were tutoring them. They learned a lot from Brian Corcoran, John Shields, Bart Rogers and Pat Ryan.
We hope that these 54 coaches go back into their clubs and pass on the knowledge learned and that we might see some new athletes making headlines with improved times, or heights, or distances in the years to come. We hope to see these coaches coming to regional squad days to help and upskill themselves in the months to come.
Finally many thanks to all who participants and showed such enthusiasm during the courses
