Athletics Ireland is delighted to announce that the “Code of Ethics & Good Practice for Children in Sport” course will be delivered to clubs nationwide free of charge from January 2012.
This is an important step in the implementation of the code of ethics in athletics in Ireland. Clubs will receive support implementing the code for the benefit of all children and leaders in our sport. This initiative follows on from the successful nationwide adaption of the Garda Vetting process in athletics.
Moira Aston and Kieron Stout, who have recently completed the ISC & HSE Code of Ethics Tutor course, are now taking applications for this course from clubs. There will be no charge for the course; however clubs will be required to provide the venue & light refreshments.
The Code of Ethics & Good Practice for Children in Sport course is three hours in duration and is a requirement for anyone attending an Athletics Ireland Coaching Course.
This is a fantastic opportunity for all clubs to avail of the code of ethics course at a time and a venue that suits them. By having dedicated Athletics Ireland tutors, clubs no longer need to access this programme through their local sports partnership.
The course structure requires that a minimum of 10 and maximum of 16 people attend. To register your interest in participating simply email Moira Aston. Club courses will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
