Dunboyne Athletic Club in association with the Athletic Association of Ireland is hosting the inaugural Winter Throws Competition this Saturday, 3rd of March. Hammer and Discus are the selected events for the first running of this event. The competition will take place at the Dunboyne AC all weather track, located on the Rooske Road, Dunboyne, Co. Meath.

Many of Ireland’s top throwers are scheduled to compete. James Mc Cabe and Padraig White both from the host club Dunboyne AC will compete in the men’s Hammer event. Claire Fitzgerald (Tralee Harriers AC) is entered in the women’s Discus, while Cara Kennedy (Ferrybank AC) goes in the women’s Hammer.

The event starts at 10.30am and also includes a number of endurance races:

12.00 pm- 1 Mile
12.30 pm- 3k
1.30 pm- 5k

The entry fee will be €5 per event and all entries will be taken on the day of competition.
