Shane Quinn (Ferrybank AC) started his second year at Providence College in the best possible fashion by winning his first cross country race of the season in Durham NH. And he did it in style with thirty seconds to spare over his nearest rival.
Amy O’Donoghue (Emerald AC), following in the footsteps of her uncle Frank O’Mara with a scholarship at Arkansas University, was12th in her first outing.
The Monahgan twins, Patrick and Andrew (Lagan Valley AC) who placed 1-2 in the Irish junior 1,500m in July, began their scholarship career in Rome, Georgia by placing seventh and ninth in the colours of Mississippi State, who list them as being from Rathfriland, Germany (St. Coleman’s College)!
