The Charleville International Half-Marathon, organised by North Cork AC, takes place this year on Sunday 23rd September 2012 at 10am.

Any proceeds from the race go to the charity St. Josephs Foundation and back into the North Cork AC Development Fund.

This race which goes by the slogan “The Flattest, Straightest and Fastest Half-Marathon in Ireland”, is set to be a high quality event which allows participants to run a fast time over the flat course which has been measured and certified to International standards by AIMS (The Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) along with using the highest quality chip timing available through Championchip. Souvenir t-shirts and medals are available.

Top Class Elite Field Lead The Way

This year’s race is set to have a top class field take part with over 30 of Ireland’s elite male and female distance runners, including a number of Olympians. Most of these athletes are taking part in order to make use of the fast flat course to record a fast time while others are using this race to gauge their fitness in the build up to the Dublin Marathon or to set themselves up for the winter cross country and road race season.

Online entries are available until Friday September 21st. Entries are also being accepted at the Charleville Park Hotel from 3pm to 6pm on Saturday 22nd September and on the morning of the race from 8:30am to 9:30am at St. Josephs Foundation, Bakers Rd. Charleville at the Start-Finish area.
