The death has taken place, after a long illness, of Br J C Joyce a pioneer and hugely influential figure in the development of juvenile athletics in Ireland in the 1960’s.
In 1967 shortly after the formation of BLE a juvenile subsidiary body BLOE was formed and Br Joyce became the inaugural chairman.
Funeral arrangements: Reposing at Martin Neligan’s Funeral Home, Fermoy. Removal 7pm Sunday 30th Sept to St Martin’s Church, Kilworth, Cork
Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Monday, with burial afterwards in the North Abbey Cemetery, Youghal.
