The Crowne Plaza in Santry played host to a very successful meeting of the European Athletics Competition Committee last weekend.

The 14 member commission, including Irish representative Pierce O’Callaghan, discussed a wide range of topics including many relating to the European Team Championships which will take place in Dublin in June 2013.
The Committee agreed that Luis Saladie from Spain will be the Technical Delegate for the event in Dublin which was warmly welcomed by coordinator of the event Liam Hennessy.
“Luis has huge experience having been Competition Director of the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 as well as more recently Competition Director of the European Championships in 2010 and the World Juniors earlier this year and will be a great help to the LOC”
Athletics Ireland CEO John Foley and Vice President Georgina Drumm hosted a dinner for the committee on Friday night.
