A national hurdles squad day will take place on Sunday Oct 21st at UL from 11am to 4pm under the guidance of national sprints and hurdles coordinator Hayley Harrison. The squad day is open to athletes U16 and upwards and both long and sprint hurdles will be catered for.
Hayley will take the 400m hurdles group while Shane McCormack will take the sprint hurdlers. Both groups will do specific hurdle drills in the morning session and after lunch the long hurdlers will concentrate on event specific skills such as hurdle sighting, hurdling while fatigued and stride pattern. The sprint hurdles group will focus primarily on start and acceleration work over hurdles 1-3 with video analysis feedback.
