The Tom Brennan Brennan Memorial 5k Road Race in the Phoenix Park @ 12 noon will get the New Year underway for all runners seeking to run a nice flat 5k to shake off the overindulging of Christmas out of their system.
European Cross Country Champion Fionnuala Britton set a new womens course record last year with a scintillating 16m12s and is expected to return for the third time and if conditions are right could improve on her one year old mark.
John Coghlan also set a Mens Record when he clocked 14m33 seconds some 3 seconds faster than James Nolan old mark.
The course is unique in so far as it is a two lap one which allows spectators to see the runners throughout the course of the race.
