Close to 1000 walkers joggers joined in the annual Finn Valley ac 5k and was described as encouraging by event organisers as they continue to build the occasssion year on year . Set on their way by donegal gaa stars Frank Mc Glynn and Marty O Reilly indeed Frank joined the runners and also present and running from that team midfielder Rory Cavanagh . THey were joined by Boxing champions Tyrone Mc Cullagh and Jason Quigley in adddition to sisters Sinead and caitriona Jennings who filled the top 2 women spots . Mens winner Irish cross country international Chris Johnson from clubmate at Lac Daniel Mooney . Master winner Kieran Carlin and the Ann Mc Ardle memorial trophy presented to the club by the family for top 15 age girl athlete and presented on the day by former international Belinda to her daughter Natasha . This link was really well received by the crowd on the day . The club are most grateful to the Mc Ardle family for this presentation .

The event is in essence a community event and the club members rallied round with the aid of the Gardai to present an excellent day . To all who helped deliver the run/walk the committee are most grateful
The next plan on the agenda is the annual Spring 4 race 5k Series beginning February on Sunday mornings an opportunity for those looking forward to a healthy more active 2013 . .Dates are Sunday Feb 17th 11am ,March 3rd again 11 am ,March 10th and March 24th . Entry 5 euro with a special T shirt if participants take in 3 of the events .
