Dunboyne Athletics Club has announced the return of their Winter Throws meet. 2012 saw the launch of this important new fixture on the Irish throwing calendar. 2012’s meet saw some super early season results including some personal bests from the likes of Tomas Rauktys, Cara Kennedy, Rachel Akers, Christina Furlong, Thomas Furlong and Padraig White.

Hammer, Discus and Shot Put competitions will be held for both junior and senior athletes. Athletes will be allowed to throw their own age-group implements for results purposes. This meet will see the start of a very important outdoor competition year where athletes will be trying to qualify for championships at the following levels: European Youth Olympic Festival (U/17); IAAF World Youth Championships (U/18); European Junior Championships (U/20); European Under 23 Championships; FISU World Student Games; IAAF World Championships.
