They will be hard pushed by Rory Chesser (Ennis Track) and Mark Hanrahan (Leevale AC) one a 3.40 1500m runner and the other a 4 minute miler so this will be an exciting affair. John Travers (Donore Harriers ) has now entered the fold with a request “I want a fast race and a sub 4 minute mile before I head off to the Euro Indoors”
Paced by the ever reliable Feidhlim Kelly (Raheny AC) who has paced everything from 60m up to Marathon.
Ailis McSweeney (Leevale) will be looking to go sub 7.36 as she sets her sights on European Indoors and will be hard pushed all the way by National Champion Kelly Proper (Ferrybank) who too will have her sights set on the Euro Indoors after her treble gold from Nationals. Steffi Creaner (Celtic DCH), Louise Holmes (KCH Club) and Sandra Lawler (Celbridge) will be looking to push them all the way.
The main focus in the Mens 60m is all about David Hynes who looked as if he was going to ease his way to a National medal on the weekend only to have false started and put a dent in this ambition. He will now have 2 runs on Saturday night to put this right and achieve his qualifying time.
Anyone with a keen interest in Athletics please come along and support & make as much noise for athletes looking for standards this weekend - you wont be disappointed with the buzz that can be created when athletes take to the track.
It is FREE in the door and if you have kids and are looking for them to run one day, this is where they will be inspired!
