Galligan is the current Irish 800m outdoor record holder after running a time of 2.00.58 in 2013 to break Irish distance running legend Sonia O’Sullivan’s previous record. Galligan has represented Ireland at numerous European and World Championship competitions in track events and at various global cross country events. The Newbridge athlete is also a qualified primary school teacher.
