Qualifying Standards for the 2005 Major Championships

The IAAF have released the qualifying standards for the 2005 World Championships to be held in Helsinki, Finland in August of next year. 11 Irish athletes achieved the 'A' standard for these Championships in 2004 with a further 9 'B' qualifiers also registered. One of the notable qualifiers is National Record holder Roisin McGettigan who is comfortably inside the inaugural criteria for the women's 3000m steeplechase which is being contested for the first time at World, Olympic or European Championship level.

Also to be found on the Athlete Info section are the qualifying standards for the 2005 European Junior Championships and the 2005 European Under 23 Championships.
