Beginners Pole Vault Initiative

A pole vault session for absolute beginners will be held in AIT on Saturday 3rd December.  This is aimed at coaches and juvenile athletes in the Connacht and Ulster regions. The aim is to introduce pole vault to clubs that do not have pole vault facilities.  The plan is to unearth new talent, introduce the event and also equip the coaches with drills to assist the athletes.  The coaches will be able to progress the athlete in the basics of the event in their club.  There will be follow-up sessions with access to pole vault facilities where it is hoped that further improvements will emerge. 

A similar programme has just started in Munster and Leinster and two beginner groups have emerged.

The session is from 2pm until 4pm in AIT.  There is a Leinster Squad session at the venue on the same day.  If you are interested in attending please contact paulmckee@athleticsireland.ie
