Bertie Quinn Track and Field 2015 Memorial Event

POSTED:

Last year was the inaugural Bertie Quinn Track and Field. With about 120 athletes competing there were a good few tight races and many athletes went home with new personal best times. The performance of the night in 2014 went to young Padraig Moran of Mullingar Harriers. He put in a huge performance in the A race of the 3000m Padraig set out at a fast pace from the beginning which continued throughout. His clubmate Shane Fitzsimons helped with the pace to a mile and then bowed out leaving Padraig to battle to the line alone. He managed to keep going and finished with a strong 66 second lap. He was rewarded with a huge new pb of 8 minutes 29 seconds almost 20 seconds faster than his previous best. Padraig was rewarded for his fine run by being presented with the Bertie Quinn Memorial Shield for the best performance on the night.
