Connacht Development Squad October 26th

The first Connacht Development Squad day of the 2014/2015 season will take place in Athlone IT on Sunday October 26th 2014 from 11.15am – 1pm.

Connacht Development Squad

  • Date: Sunday Oct 26th
  • Venue: Athlone IT (meet in the indoor arena)
  • Time: Meet at 11.15.  Train from 11.30 to 1pm
  • Who: Top 6 (or equivalent standard) in any Connacht event in 2013/2014, and aged u14 to u19 in 2014
  • To attend: Confirm name, club, chosen event, parent’s mobile & email address to Paul McNamara (paul@athleticsireland.ie) by Wed Oct 23rd.
  • Cost: €5

Consider bringing a packed lunch.

Be prepared for possible inclement weather (some events will likely train outdoors).

(NB – the 2nd squad date is scheduled for Sunday November 30th in Claremorris.  3 further sessions will take place in the new year. Further details to follow.) This is an excellent opportunity for athletes to avail of collective training with peers under the guidance of an experienced coach, to complement the coaching you receive in your club. All Connacht athletes aged u14 to u19 in 2014 that finished in the top 6 at a Connacht Schools or Connacht Clubs championships in Indoor T&F, Outdoor T&F, Cross-country or combined Events in 2013/2014, or are at an equivalent standard, are invited to attend.

Please note, those planning to attend MUST email AAI RDO Paul McNamara (paul@athleticsireland.ie ) to confirm their attendance by Wednesday Oct 23rd at the latest. When doing so please provide a parents contact number & email address. Athletes MUST also state their chosen event so we can ensure we have sufficient coaching cover for each event. If insufficient numbers confirm attendance in any given event, then that event will not be catered for, and those who have confirmed attendance will be notified of this.

Athletes are asked to contribute €5 to offset the cost of the event.  This will be collected on the day. Meet at 12pm in the indoor arena.
