Mulvey and McCambridge Take Senior Titles in Dungarvan

29 November 2004

Dubliners Vinny Mulvey and Maria McCambridge scored strong victories at the National Inter County cross country championships in Dungarvan on Sunday to claim their places on the Irish team for the European Cross Country Championships on December 12th.

In the absence of Seamus Power (injury), holder of an incredible nine in a row titles at this event, Mulvey was a very comfortable winner of the Senior men's race from Donegal's Gary Murray while McCambridge overcame a strong challenge from Jolene Byrne in the women's event to secure her first title.

Mark Christie (Mullingar) was the expected winner of the junior men's event while Roseanne Galligan took the junior women's title from Linda Byrne.
