English dominates at Great North City Games


English delivers classy performance on Tyneside

Mark English put in a classy performance to win the 500m at the Great North City Games in Tyneside in 59.58 seconds. The UCD athlete has been in excellent end of season form and usurped a number of top athletes including the USA's Johnny Dutch and Great Britain's Rabah Yousif - Yousif made the final of the 400m at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Beijing. "I'm delighted to be here and delighted to take the win," said English afterwards whose season has now drawed to a close.

Barr fifth in Brussels and beats world champion

Thomas Barr finished his season on Friday night at the Brussels Diamond League meeting with a 5th place finish in the 400m hurdles in 49.80 seconds. The Ferrybank athlete rounded out his longest, and best, season to date.
