Mageean edges closer to Olympic standard

Ciara Mageean's late season run of form continued with a second place finish over 1500m in Rovereto in a new personal best of 4:06.54 last night.

The UCD athlete was narrowly outside the Olympic qualifying time of 4:06.00 and continues on from her win at the British Milers Club. Canada's Fiona Benson won in 4:05.62. An Riocht's Laura Crowe finished 11th in 4:18.34.

Mageean is provisionally down to race in Rieti this weekend. Laura Crowe is a definite for the women's 800m in Rieti.
