Solid performances from Irish Walkers at Lugano Trophy in Switzerland
Irish racewalkers were in action in Lugano Switzerland on Sunday in the Lugano trophy International. Held in a downpour throughout the morning, the senior men's event over 20k saw brilliant performances from Alex Wright who finished 6th in a time of 1.23.18. In shortly after Alex was team mate Cian McManamon finishing 8th in 1.24.36. The Ladies event also over 20k produced two PB's for our two walkers with Veronica Burke taking 9th place in 1.44.25 and Kate Veale 10th in 1.45.06. Our sole Youth athlete in action was Oisín Lane who recorded a fine time of 48.02 for 5th place.
