Ireland's best students set for Morton Stadium

Some of Ireland's leading sprinters are set for the Irish University Track and Field Championships in Morton Stadium (April 15/16).

The event which will be live streamed sees the likes of Marcus Lawler (IT Carlow) and Phil Healy (UCC) in their respective 100m and 200m with a host of good entries in those events. The 400m sees Andrew Mellon (QUB) as one of the lead entrants in the men's event while Jenna Bromell (UL) and Christine McMahon (QUB) will battle it out once more in the women's race.

Adam King (DCU), who threw a world junior B qualifier in the Spring Throws, is in the men's hammer with good entries in the men's and women's throwing events. Barry Pender (DCU) is listed in the high jump with another quality entry throughout the vertical and horizontal jumps.

In the distance races, Emma Mitchell (QUB) and Alanna Lally (UCD) are in the women's 3,000m and 800m. In the men's races Liam Brady (Athlone IT) and Keith Fallon (DCU) will be amongst those looking to make their mark while Paul Byrne (UL) will look to strike gold in the 400m hurdles.
