Twenty Irish athletes selected for European U23 Athletics Championships

Twenty Irish athletes have been selected for the European U23 Athletics Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland from the 13th-16th of July.

The team is dominated by sprinters but also has some good athletes in the middle distance and in the throws with the likes of Siofra Cleirigh Buttner (DSD) in the 800m and Adam King (Iveragh) in the hammer.

Quite a number of the athletes are transitioning from the junior ranks having competed in the European U20 Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden in 2015 and at the World U20 Championships last year which were also hosted in Bydgoszcz.
