2018/2019 U20 Endurance Performance Squads

POSTED:

Athletes have been selected for this year’s Endurance Squads based on their results over the past 12 months. Congratulations to those athletes. Athletes now have the opportunity to sign up to be part of the squads for the next 12 months. The squads will aim to bring top young athletes from across each province together for opportunities to train collectively. Whilst this undoubtedly has some performance benefits, perhaps more importantly it gives athletes a chance to get to know each other and can only help build a strong vibrant endurance community that athletes will want to be part of for years to come. Athletes need to sign up a.s.a.p. as there are residential weekend camps scheduled for each province in September:

  • Connacht – Killary Adventure Centre, 14th-16th September
  • Munster- Banna Strand, 21st-23rd September
  • Leinster- Gormanston College, 28th-30th September

Camps will be lead by coaches with at least Level 2 coaching qualifications and will include a mix of practical training sessions, theory and input from expert speakers/elite athletes.

Athletes included in the squad list should follow the link below to register for the squad. There is a small fee to contribute to the running costs of the squads and there will be a contribution required for each camp but overall the program will be heavily subsidised. Athletes that have registered will then receive an email inviting them to sign up for the first camp. Only athletes that are on the lists should register as other athletes will not be invited to the camps and the fee will not be reimbursed.
