Connacht T&F Squads Announcement 2018/19

POSTED:

Athletics Ireland is delighted to announce details of the 2018/19 Connacht T&F Squads.

The Connacht T&F Squad is for selected athletes only from the U14 to U19 age groups (2018 age groups). Athletes are selected based on their Connacht Indoors, Outdoors and Schools Track and Field performances. The top 4 athletes in club and top 3 in school’s competitions were chosen in the following events:

Sprints, Hurdles, Middle Distance, Long Distance, Steeple, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Walks, Shot, Discus, Javelin and Hammer.

A list of those athletes selected for the Connacht T&F squad is available HERE. Congratulations to all selected athletes.

New for 2018/19, each of squad days will have a unique focus or ‘theme’ from a coaching point of view to allow athletes and their coaches to learn why/how they are undertaking a given training method, drill or exercise for the given time of year for example.  We will also have a talk from European Race Walking Cup Medalist and Westport AC athlete Cian McManamon.

Those selected should register and pay online before the 1st squad day (Nov 11th) HERE. The cost for all three squad days is €20 which includes a squad t-shirt.:

Please note – For middle/long distance events we will ONLY be catering for athletes who are NOT on the current Connacht Performance Endurance Squad.
