European Masters Athletes of the Year 2022

Huge congratulations to Anne Gilshinan (Slaney Olympic AC) for winning European Masters Female Athlete of the Year 2022 and European Middle Distance Female Athlete of the Year. 

Anne (originally from Virginia in Cavan) won Double Gold in World Championships in Tampere, Finland in July 2022 in W55 - 800m and 1500m. 

Anne also won Triple Gold in European Masters Indoors - in Braga, Portugal in Feb 2022 in 800m, 1500m and 3000m

Anne Gilshinan currently holds 6 World Records in W55 category in 800m, 1500m and 1 mile both Indoors and Outdoors.

Also congratulations to the Irish W40 4x100m Relay team (Avril Dillon - DSD, Kathryn McDevitt - Letterkenny Snezana Bechtina - Clonliffe Harriers and Sinead O'Regan - Riverstick) who won European Female Relay Team of the Year 2022. This is the first time an Irish Sprint Relay Team has won this award. They won Gold at World Masters Championships in Tampere, Finland in July 2022.
