Exciting schools’ team to compete in SIAB International
Classy schools' team set for Scotland
An exciting Irish schools’ team will compete at the SIAB Schools International in Grangemouth, Scotland tomorrow (July 21st).
The underage athletes have been thriving in recent months and there is plenty of talent in the big squad travelling to Scotland.
Cian McPhillips (Moyne CS) set a new youth 3,000m record last week and competes over 1500m and will be hoping to make a strong impression.
Emma Moore (Presentation College Athenry) was in excellent form at the Irish Life Health juvenile championships last week and will be looking to replicate that form over 800m.
Ciara Sheehy (St Mary’s Charleville) competes in the shot put and will be girls’ captain with Sean Donoghue (St Declan’s Cabra) competing in the 3,000m captaining the boys’ team.
The team has lots of experience including a number of athletes who competed at the European U18 Championships in Gyor, Hungary recently.
