Athletics Ireland is Governance Code Compliant

Athletics Ireland is delighted to confirm its compliance with the governance code for a type C organisation following Board approval of the outstanding items at the December meet.

The Governance Code is a resource to assist community, voluntary and charity organisations develop their overall capacity in terms of how they run their organisation. It a voluntary code provided to all boards/committees/ executives of not-for-profit groups to encourage them to check themselves against best practice in the management of their affairs.

Athletics Ireland CEO, Hamish Adams adds, “As an organisation we aspire to deliver best practice across all areas of our business. The governance of Athletics Ireland is critical to the framework of our sport and we are very proud to state our compliance with the governance code. I also note that this is only the start of our governance journey and we will continue to implement strategies that constantly improve our structures and systems.”
