The CARA Sport Inclusion Disability Charter has had almost 40 Irish Athletics Clubs sign up in recent months. The charter aims to strengthen and expand the reach of clubs within their community, to remove barriers facing people with disabilities in sport participation and to share the expertise and supports available through Cara and Sport Ireland Networks.

All clubs who sign up to the charter can avail of resources from Cara, media templates, information on training and events specific to the inclusion of people with disabilities in sport and physical activity.

As part of the values of Athletics Ireland which are Integrity, Inclusion, Respect and Excellence, Athletics Ireland is calling on athletics clubs nationwide to sign up to the charter. Athletics is one of the most accessible and inclusive sports, with many clubs already meeting the key areas being called upon by Cara.

For more information on the charter please see CARA.ie or contact the Sport and Inclusion Officer by email David Daly
