Athletics Ireland will run an Irish Sports Council approved, 4 hour Code of Ethics basic awareness course on Child Welfare & Protection in Sport on Saturday morning April 26th prior to Congress. Date: Saturday April 26th Time: 10am to 2pm Venue: Donore Clubhouse, Chapelizod Road, Dublin 20 All are welcome. The cost of the course is just €10 and application forms can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. A goal for all those involved in sport for young people is to provide a safe, positive and fun environment where children can develop and enhance their physical and social skills. In order to help to achieve this goal, every Athletics club in Ireland is requested to have at least one person who has completed this course. The course is also delivered around the country through the network of Local Sports Partnerships. The training will enable Sports Leaders/Coaches to implement best practice in protecting the welfare of participants through the creation of a child-centred environment within the sports club. Please complete the attached course application form and return it to Athletics Ireland head offices with the €10 registration fee before April 18th. Any further queries please contact Jacqui Freyne, Director of Development, Athletics Ireland on (087) 2629950 or jacqui@athleticsireland.ie Child Welfare Course Application form.pdf
