The National Combined Events Squad gathered to begin preparations for 2015 in Nenagh Olympic AC on Sunday 2nd Nov.  Over 18 of our top multi eventers reported for a busy day of technical work.

Kieron Stout, NEC, opened the day with a briefing on support for CE athletes in 2015, details of bursaries and targeted national & international heptathlon/decathlon competitions in 2015.

2nd November

After warm up national coaches of Brid Golden, Jacqui Freyne, Alan Golden and Kieron Stout took each group through a rotation of four technical events. These included long jump, sprint hurdles, high jump and shot put. The day closed with a 200 and 800 running session managed by Brid Golden. Overall it was a terrific day for combined events. Well done & thank you to all who travelled long distances to contribute and participate in the day. It was great to have the CE community together again to build on the work done by all in 2014. We look forward to our next squad session in December (Sunday 7th) and then into our National Indoor CE Championships in AIT on January 17th.
