After a hiatus due to COVID-19, Armagh International 3 and 5km races return on 9th February. The race will attract athletes from across Europe to take part in the Women’s 3km and the Men’s 5km. As an indication of the quality of fields attracted to Armagh, in 2020 52 women ran inside 10minutes, and 22 men ran inside 14min! Athletics Ireland will nominate a senior teams of 4 men to compete in the 5km, and 4 women to compete in the 3km against other International teams. For race details and entries see www.armagh5k.com

Athletes wishing to be considered for the Irish team should still enter directly through the event organisers but must also submit the specific declaration of interest form for this event. Selections will be made after the 23rd January from those who have submitted the declaration form based on criteria below:

  • Historical 3k and 5k performances
  • Recent performances in any relevant endurance events to indicate form and fitness including road, track and cross country races.
  • Recent form and estimated finishing time at Armagh Annual International Road Race 2023.
