A small team has been announced for the junior international meeting in Mannheim, Germany this year. The meeting is highly competitive and provides our athletes with a prime opportunity to gain qualification for the World Championships in Beijing and for excellent level of competition for those who have already qualified. The team of 5 athletes will face fierce competition in the hottest junior competition of the season. The team will be led by AAI’s newly appointed junior team manager Peter Sinclair and supported by physiotherapist Angela O’Sullivan. Kelly Proper will travel to Mannheim with the World Junior qualification standard already secured. Amy Foster, Jason Smyth, David McCarthy and Roseanne Galligan will be hoping for good conditions to help them secure that critical qualification. This competition will provide a fantastic opportunity for both girls to qualify for Beijing also. Aarhus, Denmark Mark Christie and Martin Fagan will compete in the 1500m in Aarhus, Denmark on Thursday next.
