Newly elected Kilkenny mayor Marie FitzPatrick of the labour party is the most recent entry in the Kilkenny leg of the SPAR Mile Challenge. Marie will be training hard for the big event as she has the Green Party's Malcolm Noone as competition. The Greens may be in government but bragging rights in Kilkenny political circles may come down to the outcome of this particular battle on July 7th. The Kilkenny Mile Challenge will take place in Scanlon Park from 11am to 3pm and the local organising committee is being led by the tireless Sean Lynch of KCH.
