27 Coaches recently completed a Level 1 Coach Education course in Scanlon Park track, Kilkenny. Eight of these coaches have come from Paralympic Sports in a new joint approach to the Level 1 course.
Feedback from the coaches has been good and it was a good learning experience for both the AAI and Paralympic coaches.
In total 12 Paralympic Coaches from the Kilkenny and Cork Level 1’s have completed the AAI Level 1 and this number is set to rise through future Level 1 courses.
RDO
Development Officer Colin Byrne said “ All the coaches really got involved and learned a lot from the course and each other. Through Coach Education we hope to increase awareness and participation of Paralympic Sports through the Clubs”
Thanks to Paralympic Tutor Noel Brennan for his help over the 2 weekends in Kilkenny and to local club Kilkenny City Harriers for giving us use of the Clubs equipment.
