NEW IRISH INDOOR RECORD FOR RHASIDAT ADELEKE

Rhasidat Adeleke has broken the Irish Junior 400m indoor record with a stunning 53.44 while representing the University of Texas at the Big 12 Championships at the Sports Performance Center in Texas last night (February 27th). The 18-year-old is now ranked 3rd fastest U20 in Europe.

The 2019 double European Youth Olympics 100m and 200m champion clocked the time 24 hours after breaking the record in her heat with a PB run of 54.14.

The record-breaking time places the Tallaght A.C. athlete 16th on the European U20 indoor all-time list.

Davicia Patterson was also in action at the same event and impressed with a PB run in the 600y, clocking the 5th best time in school history (1.20.46).
