The Irish women will be the ones to watch at the Ullevi Stadium on Day 5. Aoife Byrne will get things underway trying to reach the 1500m final - this will be a tough order however and like many of the distance events so far, could prove to be a tactical race. Derval O'Rourke will continue her quest to reach the final of the 100m hurdles later on in the evening. The atmosphere for her race should be electric as home favourite Suzanna Kallur will line up next to Derval in the second semi-final while Suzanna's twin sister Jenny, lines up in the first semi. Deirdre Ryan will attempt to better her National Record of 1.92m which she easily cleared in qualification. She will face tough competition on the night and not only from local athlete Kajsa Bergqvist. 1500m Women's Semi-Final:
- Aoife Byrne will run in the second semi-final at 9:56
- Derval O'Rourke will take on home favourite Suzanna Kallur in the second semi at 5:20
- Deirdre Ryan will seek heights never reached by an irish female high jumper before at 5:50pm
- There is high hopes that Derval will reach this final at 6:50pm but you will have to tune in to the semi-finals to find out
