Tony Mangan's World Record Is Ratified

And a new challenge looms over the Christmas period MSB's Ultrarunner Tony Mangan is returning Arizona to compete in the multiday race he finished 2nd in last year. The Across The Years 3 day road race starts on December 29th in the grounds of Phoenix mansion Nardini Manor. Anyone interested can follow his progress on www.acrosstheyears.com The entire race is covered live at that address with updates at the end of each 500 metre lap! Tony is hoping to run 400kms for the first 2 days to make it 3 runs of over 400kms in 2007. Then he still has another day to run! The world ROAD record for 48 hours is 420km. His world 48 hour INDOOR record of 426km (265 miles) set last March in Brno,Czech Republic was ratified only a few days ago by the IAU world governing body. He has been invited back to compete in both the Brno and Surgeres 48 hour races in 2008.
