Irish athletes competing The World long distance mountain running championships are being held this Saturday in Switzerland as part of the Jungfrau marathon. The race is 42.195 km with 1,823m of climb. The women’s course record of 3:21.03 was set by Marie-Luce Romanens of Switzerland in 2001 and the men’s record of 2:49.01 by kiwi Jonathan Wyatt in 2004. A small group from Ireland, led by Aisling Coppinger and Sarah Moores, are competing for the first time.
