Meath Local Sports Partnership will host a Youth Sport Development conference entitled “Coaching for Success” on Saturday 23rd February in The Venue, Ratoath, Co. Meath. Lunch is provided for conference attendees. This conference is aimed at coaches, leaders, teachers, parents, sports development officers, players, athletes and anyone with an interest in youth sport development. The conference focuses on key issues in youth sport development and coaching for success addressing coaching philosophy, nutrition, developing & coaching speed and screening in sport. The conference will also include the launch of Meath Local Sports Partnership’s Strategic Plan 2007-2012 “Sport and Physical Activity - A Way of Life.” Speakers include: Sean Boylan – “Coaching philosophy for all” Mike Antoniades – “How to develop & coach speed” Giles Warrington - “Training considerations for young players and athletes. Aoife Hearne – “Nutrition in Sport” Dr. Philip Carolan – Screening in sport is not all about Sudden Cardiac Death. Chairperson for the day is Colm Keys – journalist with the Irish Independent.
