On Friday last, over eighty 5th and 6th class pupils from the four local primary schools enjoyed a two hours Mc Donalds Little Athletics Jamboree in the well appointed Aislin Centre, Klcar.

The team jamboree consisting of partner races, field events [ standing long jump; standing triple jump; speed bounce; seated ball throw; standing Shot Putt] and Relays found the Blue team emerging as narrow winners.

The local Sliabh Liag athletics club and Transition Yr students from Carrick Voc School organised the event and provided officials on the day.

At the conclusion all of the children present were encouraged to join the local Sliabh Liag athletics club where a weekly ‘Little Athletics’ programme is up and running
