2009 has been an excellent year for coach education in the Dublin area. This trend continued with the recent Level 1 course which was held at Tallaght AC on November 13th/14th and 27th/28th. This course was closed almost two weeks before it commenced but still had record numbers. In total 44 coaches turned up despite the dreadful weather. This necessitated dividing the coaches into two groups for some sessions and this worked very well. This number represented an excellent turnout and clubs from the entire city and county were represented.

The host club Tallaght AC had a large group and they were proudly displaying their new track to the visitors. The coaches got the opportunity to test out the track during the various practical sessions and all were impressed. The enthusiasm of the coaches ensured that it was enjoyable and the feedback from the course was very positive. A number of the coaches expressed an interest in progressing to Level 2 also so the future looks bright on the coaching front in the capital.
