Derval O’Rourke (Leevale AC) has qualified for the women’s 100m hurdles final at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona. O’Rourke finished third in her semi-final in a time of 12.75 seconds. The semi final was won by Nevin Yarit (Turkey) in a new National record of 12.71. Derval is now third fastest entering the final. This time is a seasons best for O’Rourke and getting closer to her National record of 12.67.

The 2nd semi final was won by Dektyareva of Russia in a slower time of 12.81. An exciting final is in store. The final will start later this evening at 7.25pm.
